WASHINGTON — Press registration is now open for the 2026 Ocean Sciences Meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, 22-27 February 2025. The biennial Ocean Sciences Meeting, co-sponsored by the American Geophysical Union , the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography , and The Oceanography Society , brings together 6,000 scientists, students, policymakers and educators to discuss breaking research across the ocean sciences and critical issues affecting a sustainable future for our oceans.

Staff, freelance and student journalists are eligible to apply for complimentary press registration through the end of the conference. Press officers and institutional writers covering the meeting are also eligible. Additional information for press can be found in the conference Press Center. Media access to the meeting is issued at the discretion of the OSM25 Media Relations Office. All press registrants must provide credentials regardless of whether they have attended in the past. Please email us at news@agu.org if you have a question about eligibility, what group you should register under, or other conference questions.
Programming
Ocean Sciences Meeting 2026 is primarily an in-person event. Online participants will have access to on-demand content, including recorded plenaries, the online poster gallery, and slides from oral presentations, Town Halls, and Agency Forums (no audio). OSM24 Media Relations will live-stream press events and take questions from remote reporters. The full scientific program will be available in late October 2025.
Media registrants receive, at no charge, access to all scientific sessions. Some events and activities, including but not limited to invitation-only events and workshops, are not open to press registrants.
OSM26 will host an on-site press room with working space, interview space, wifi, tea and coffee.
Location and hotel information
The 2024 Ocean Sciences Meeting will be held at the Scottish Event Campus, Exhibition Way, Glasgow, Scotland G3 8YW.
Hotel bookings at conference rates can be made during registration, or registered press attendees can log in to the booking page. Closing dates vary depending on the hotel. Press registrants should use the press registration portal to book housing. Booking housing through the general registration portal will conflict with your press registration. OSM does not sell attendee information. If you are contacted by any company other than Maritz Global Events (MGE) offering registration or housing for OSM26, please know that these companies do NOT represent OSM.
Health and safety
OSM strongly encourages all attendees to be up to date on all vaccinations. We continue to monitor health and safety issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic and other communicable diseases and follow UK Health Security Agency guidelines as they are released. Masking guidelines will be assessed prior to the meeting dates. Attendees who wish to wear masks are encouraged to do so.
