Top scientific research recognized at ACC middle east conference

Abstract Award winners from Jordan, Egypt and Turkey will next present their research at ACC.26 in New Orleans

The American College of Cardiology has recognized three outstanding abstract presentations as Abstract Award winners at the ACC Middle East 2025 Together with 16th Emirates Cardiac Society Conference held October 3-5 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The conference brings together leading experts and cardiovascular clinicians from across the Middle East to examine emerging trends and evidence-based strategies in the prevention and management of patients with heart disease. This year’s winners were selected for their high-quality research that furthers the ACC’s mission to transform cardiovascular care and improve heart health.

This year’s Abstract Award winners are:

  • Associations Between Non-HDL Cholesterol Levels and Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Middle Eastern ASCVD Patients: A Cross-Sectional Analysis of Demographic, Lifestyle and Clinical Characteristics – Osama Alkouri (Irbid, Jordan)
  • Impact of Left Ventricular Mass Index and Left Ventricular Geometric Pattern on Right Ventricular Dimensions and Function in Hypertensive Patients Using Dual Source CT – Loay Soliman (Cairo, Egypt)
  • Diagnostic Performance of Flurpiridaz F18 PET Versus SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging in Coronary Artery Disease: A Meta-Analysis of Diagnostic Accuracy – Beyzanur Güney (Istanbul, Turkey)

Abstract Award winners receive complimentary registration and travel to the ACC’s Annual Scientific Session, taking place March 28-30, 2026, in New Orleans, where they will be able to present their winning abstract and be published in an ACC.26 JACC supplement.
