Brussels will host the EBRAINS Summit 2025, a major international event bringing together neuroscientists, policymakers, technologists and innovators to explore the future of brain research and its impact on society. The Summit will take place from 8-11 December 2025 at the EGG Conference Centre.
EBRAINS is Europe’s digital infrastructure for brain science. The event will assess how neuroscience can drive increasing medical progress, digital innovation and responsible data use.
The programme features scientific talks with leading experts, including Professor Rafael Yuste (Columbia University) and Professor Onur Güntürkün (Ruhr University Bochum). Director of DG CNECT, Kilian Gross (European Commission), and Anders Dam Jensen, Executive Director of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking, will deliver welcome speeches.

Scientific programme highlights
The Summit’s scientific programme spans neurotechnology, brain modelling and simulation, AI for neuroscience, high performance computing, medical data, ethics and the future of digital brain research. Sessions will address emerging neurotechnologies, data standards and interoperability, future computing, large-scale brain models, clinical trial insights and the sustainability of research infrastructures.
The preliminary results from the EPINOV clinical trial, which integrates virtual brain technology to improve epilepsy surgery planning, will be presented.
The programme also includes a joint day with the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility INCF, user presentations from the EBRAINS community and a poster session showcasing international research.
Your brain on Beethoven
On the Summit’s public day (9 December), visitors can enjoy a free art-science musical performance and explore a science market. Registration is required to attend.
World-renowned musicians Mei Rui (piano) and Stella Chen (violin) will present a unique fusion of art and neuroscience during a live performance of Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata. As they perform, a brain-computer interface will capture and display their real-time neural activity on stage, offering the audience a glimpse into the cognitive processes behind elite musical performance.
Media participation
Accredited journalists are welcome to attend the Summit from 9 to 11 December. To register for a media pass or request interviews, please contact us at press@ebrains.eu. Please note that 8 December is reserved for internal sessions. Register early and secure access to sessions, the artistic performance and onsite interview opportunities.
