March 2026 issues of APA journals feature new research on bipolar disorder treatment, prevention of PTSD symptoms, access to eating disorder care, and more

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 2, 2026 — The latest issues of two American Psychiatric Association journals (The American Journal of Psychiatry and Psychiatric Services) are now available online.

The American Journal of Psychiatry

The March issue of The American Journal of Psychiatry brings together advances relevant to treating bipolar disorder, PTSD, and schizophrenia.  Highlights of the issue include:

  • Primary Prevention of PTSD Symptoms in Combat-Deploying Soldiers Using Attention Bias Modification: A Randomized Controlled Trial. (Lead author Chelsea Dyan Gober Dykan is the guest on March's AJP Audio podcast episode.)
  • Long-Term Safety and Efficacy of Xanomeline and Trospium Chloride in Schizophrenia: A 52-Week Open-Label Extension Trial. (AJP Deputy Editor Daniel Pine, M.D., highlights the study in this video.)
  • Bipolar Disorder: An Update on Neurobiology and Treatment.
