New book explores emerging approaches to combat biofilms and antimicrobial resistance

Book Announcement

Bentham Science Publishers

Bentham Books announces the release of Biofilm and Quorum Sensing: Current Trends and Treatment Strategies, an edited reference exploring microbial communication, biofilm formation, and innovative approaches to infection control. The book highlights the importance of understanding quorum sensing in addressing persistent infections and antimicrobial resistance.

About the Book

The book examines the molecular mechanisms of biofilm formation and quorum sensing, focusing on their roles in microbial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, and host-microbe interactions. It explores emerging strategies for controlling biofilms, including quorum quenching, phytochemicals, antimicrobial peptides, nanoparticles, and phage therapy.

By combining fundamental concepts with recent advances in microbiology and biotechnology, the volume highlights potential applications in medicine, environmental microbiology, and industrial biotechnology. It also identifies future research opportunities for developing new approaches to biofilm-associated infections.

Key Features

  • Explores biofilm formation and quorum-sensing mechanisms.
  • Examines microbial communication and antimicrobial resistance.
  • Covers emerging biofilm control strategies and therapeutic approaches.
  • Highlights applications in healthcare, environmental microbiology, and biotechnology.

Readership: Researchers, academics, clinicians, and professionals in microbiology, biotechnology, and infectious disease research, as well as postgraduate and advanced undergraduate students.
