Brain Protein Linked to Memory Loss in Old Age (2 of 3)

image: The researchers have identified a protein -- RbAp48 -- that, when increased in aged wild-type mice, improves memory back to that of young wild-type mice. In the image, yellow shows the increased RbAp48 in the dentate gyrus. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 28, 2013, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by E. Pavlopoulos at Columbia University in New York, N.Y., and colleagues was titled, "Molecular Mechanism for Age-Related Memory Loss: The Histone-Binding Protein RbAp48." view more
