The EBMT Nurses Group is proud to announce the release of the first-ever textbook for nurses during the EBMT Annual Meeting that is taking place in Lisbon (18-21 March 2018). This textbook provides nurses with a comprehensive and informative guide covering all aspects of transplant nursing, from basic principles to advanced concepts. It takes the reader on a journey through the history of transplant nursing, presenting concepts to help nurses improve the patient experience, as well as research and auditing methods.

This new volume specifically intended for nurses, complements the ESH-EBMT handbook, a popular educational resource originally developed in 2003 for physicians to accompany an annual training course also serving as an educational tool in its own right.

Michelle Kenyon (Ed.), Consultant Nurse (BMT) from King's College Hospital London and Secretary of the EBMT Nurses Group highlights: "The Textbook for Nurses accomplishes the objective of the EBMT Nurses Group to improve the care of patients receiving HSCT through training, education and research. Capturing the real spirit of our group, this incredible project reflects huge commitment as well as a truly collaborative achievement across our international network."

Aleksandra Babic (Ed.), BMT Coordinator and Quality Manager from Istituto Oncologico della Svizzera Italiana, Bellinzona and former EBMT President supports this statement adding: "The Textbook reflects the high level of the EBMT Nurses Group experience and competencies achieved throughout the field of HSCT nursing which will certainly contribute to reaching excellence in patient care".

This book is in Open Access and also available in print (hardcover) on The European Blood and Marrow Transplantation Textbook for Nurses (ISBN 978-3-319-50025-6)
