Leaf Quality Drives Forests' Ability to Absorb Carbon

video: Seasonal leaf renewal as seen from the Large Scale Biosphere Atmosphere (LBA) tower near Manaus, Brazil, over the course of 12 months (2011-2012). Upper canopy tree crowns flush new leaves mostly in the dry season, leading to seasonal changes in the age of leaves and in photosynthetic efficiency of the forest.
