video: This movie demonstrates how the CTC-iChip platform is operated, putting emphasis on fact that it takes 2 vacutainers (~20ml) of whole blood to be processed in 2 hours. In this movie, the platform is operating in antigen-indpendent (negCTC-iChip) modality, in which the WBCs are labeled with magnetic beads. At the end of the movie, blood is separated into RBCs, WBCs, and purified CTCs in different vials. This video relates to a paper that appeared in the April 3, 2013, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by Dr. E. Ozkumur at Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Engineering in Medicine in Boston, Mass., and colleagues was titled, “Inertial Focusing for Tumor Antigen–Dependent and Tumor Antigen–Independent Sorting of Rare Circulating Tumor Cells.” view more
