科研人员报告了一种使用血浆中的无细胞DNA突变和蛋白质标记物从而检测无症状、高风险人群的肝细胞癌（HCC）的化验方法；这组作者说，在根据传统筛查肝细胞癌（HCC）的方法得到阴性结果的年龄在35岁到69岁的331名乙肝感染个体的样本中，17%的测试呈阳性的个体以及没有一个测试呈阴性的个体之后被诊断出来肝细胞癌（HCC）。
