Wiley is proud to have been a publisher of their work over the years in both books and journals: Grubbs is the editor of Handbook of Metathesis (Wiley-VCH, 2003) and a contributor to Ruthenium in Organic Synthesis (Wiley-VCH, 2004); a review of Schrock's work can be found in the journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition (2003, Volume 42, Issue 38); and Chauvin's landmark publication regarding the mechanism of the reaction, which paved the way for Grubbs and Schrock, and for which he was essentially cited, appeared in Die Makromolekulare Chemie (1971, Volume 141, Issue 1). He is also a contributor to the handbook Multiphase Homogeneous Catalysis (Ed. Cornils et al., Wiley-VCH, 2005).
Grubbs is an Advisory Editor, and Schrock is a member of the Editorial Board for Wiley's Journal of Polymer Science, Part A: Polymer Chemistry, a leading journal in polymer science, focusing on synthesis, reactions, modification, and degradation of organic, inorganic, and naturally occurring polymers.
Both are members of the Academic Advisory Board of Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis, Wiley's premier journal in homogeneous, organic and enzyme catalysis with a specific focus on green synthesis. In 2002, Grubbs and Schrock edited a special issue of the journal devoted to metathesis (Volume 344, Issue 6-7), and earlier this year, a special issue of the journal contained articles dedicated to Schrock on the occasion of his 60th birthday (Volume 347, Issue 2-3).
Last month, Grubbs and Schrock also received the German Chemical Society's prestigious August Wilhelm Von Hofmann Medal.
