image: When larvae of the Squinting Bush Brown butterfly, Bicyclus anynana, are reared at high temperatures, males court females and females are choosy, but the reverse is true when larvae from the same egg batch are reared at low temperatures. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Jan. 7, 2011, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. Kathleen Prudic at Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and colleagues was titled, "Developmental Plasticity in Sexual Roles of Butterfly Species Drives Mutual Sexual Ornamentation." view more
