image: Images of a 3-hour-old fruit fly embryo (top) and 22-hour-old zebrafish embryo (bottom) were recorded with Simultaneous Multiview Light-Sheet Microscopy (SiMView). The fruit fly embryo contains ~6,000 cell nuclei and the zebrafish embryo ~50,000 cell nuclei, which are shown in a blue-to-red color code that indicates depth in the image. This image relates to a Review that appeared in the June 7, 2013, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The Review, by Philipp Keller at Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Ashburn, Va., and colleagues was titled, "Imaging Morphogenesis: Technological Advances and Biological Insights." view more
