Bowling Green, Ohio February 13, 2019 - Klodiana Lanaj PhD has been recognized with the Distinguished Early Career Contributions-Science Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

The annual award is given to a SIOP member who has made significant contributions to the science of I-O psychology within seven years of receiving their PhD.

The awards committee evaluates the general nature and impact of the nominee's contributions, the most important contributions, and the status of the nominee in the estimation of other prominent I-O psychology scientists.

Since receiving her PhD in 2013, Dr. Klodiana Lanaj has produced 25 refereed publications, 20 of which are in the most prestigious outlets in I-O psychology (Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Psychological Bulletin). Her research has focused mainly on leadership and self-regulation theories, and has been cited roughly 500 times. She has an h factor of 10--almost double her professional age--an impressive number for someone at such an early career stage.

As a result of her impressive work, editors of several prestigious journals--Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes--have asked her to serve on their editorial boards.
