image: This is a false color image of a polished section obtained from EDS analyses. Fe is red; Mg is green; Ca is yellow; Al is white. Notice the olivine macrocrysts zoning and the variable composition of core olivine. Pyroxene is blue-green in the groundmass, maskelynite is white. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the October 11, 2012, issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The paper, by Hasnaa Chennaoui Aoudjehane at Hassan II University Casablanca in Casablanca, Morocco, and colleagues was titled, “Tissint Martian Meteorite: A Fresh Look at the Interior, Surface and Atmosphere of Mars.” view more
