科研人员报告说,源自人类诱导多能干细胞的皮层神经元在移植给有类似于中风导致的大脑损伤的大鼠之后,功能整合到了脑回路中,并且逆转了与这种损伤有关联的一些运动功能损失;这组作者说,这些结果提示了移植源于干细胞的神经元可能取代死的细胞并且恢复中风的运动功能。
