科研人员审视了美国和加拿大的195个生物学会议的行为规范的普遍性和内容，结果发现在有行为规范的24%的会议之中，43%的会议没有提到不正当性行为，17%没有提到基于身份的歧视，35%没有提到侵害的后果；这组作者建议所有的会议应当拥有解决种族和性别歧视问题的行为规范，并且维持透明的执行体系。
