海水锂与二叠纪三叠纪大灭绝

科研人员使用锂(Li)同位素分析,报告了来自中国南部二叠纪-三叠纪边界的沉积岩的轻海水锂同位素特征,二叠纪-三叠纪边界标志着地球历史上的一个严重的大灭绝事件;理论建模把这种轻锂同位素与和西伯利亚暗色岩的喷发时间有关的大陆风化增强联系在了一起, 西伯利亚暗色岩可能在二叠纪-三叠纪大灭绝中起到了一个作用,这组作者说,这表明了在陆地和海洋生态危机之间可能存在一种联系。
