HOBOKEN, N.J. ¯ InStream Media LLC, a Stevens Institute of Technology Technogenesis® Company, has signed a distribution agreement with BIG Interactive of Singapore to distribute InStream’s embedded digital communications product to Singapore’s cable television market and other outlets. InStream Media LLC’s product has the potential to disrupt the way advertising is delivered to consumers via digital media. It provides non-invasive, unobtrusive embedded advertising using advanced steganography. This is an interactive, consumer-initiated approach that also provides instant feedback to the advertiser. It is also a method that does not increase the need for bandwidth.

The company is an outgrowth of research conducted in the Media Security, Networking and Communications (MSyNC) Lab in Stevens’ Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. The founders, along with Stevens’ VP for Research & Enterprise Development, Dr. Helena S. Wisniewski, are Professors R. Chandramouli and K. Subbalakshmi, two experts in the field of streamed digital media, who are also founders of the MSyNC Lab.

Dr. Wisniewski said, “This is a marvelous opportunity for a large-scale product release for InStream Media, and we are very happy that BIG Interactive has recognized the clear market potential of this young technology company, founded and incubated at Stevens Institute of Technology, a major US technological university,.”

“BIG Interactive is extremely delighted to have signed an exclusive Distribution Agreement for distribution in Singapore with InStream to distribute their Steganographic Embedded Non-Invasive Advertising platform initially for Singapore,” said Mr. Bo Yu, CEO, BIG Interactive. “We are in the business of integrating very promising Digital Lifestyle technologies into our suite of Web2.0 and IDM solutions. After comprehensively exploring the steganographic platform from InStream, we soon realized it is potentially a blue ocean and exceptionally disruptive new online advertising model. As such, we are elated to have formally embraced a win-win strategic partnership with InStream.

“It does not stop here,” he continued, “by virtue of the many aspects InStream’s steganographic technology can contribute to the tremendously exciting and dynamic Web2.0 space, we are currently working very closely with InStream to arrive at our next level of long-term collaboration. So watch this space…”
