一项482人参与的经济研究的目标是评估关切与祈祷（thoughts and prayers）对于经历过艰难或自然灾害的人们的价值，结果发现尽管基督教徒重视来自其他宗教人群的关切与祈祷，但是表达了无神论或不可知论信念的人们不喜欢来自基督教徒的关切与祈祷，甚至愿意付钱去避免祈祷；这些结果提示，关切与祈祷的表达可能因为接受者的信念而得到不同的价值评估。
