Animation of Flood Potential from 2 Australian Tropical Cyclones

video: Merged precipitation data from NASA-JAXA's Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) and other satellites was used to calculate flood potential with rainfall from Tropical Cyclone Lam and Tropical Cyclone Marcia as they made landfall in the Northern Territory and eastern Queensland, respectively on Feb. 20. This animation runs from Feb. 14 to Feb. 23 and indicates areas where flooding was likely. Flood potential is color coded with Yellow being low, Orange medium and Red indicating areas where flood potential was high. view more
