Why Tumors that Return Are So Tough (2 of 3)

image: Metabolic images from a patient who had an original diagnosis of low-grade astrocytoma that transformed to a high-grade glioma (GBM) at recurrence are shown. The image shows that tissue within the same tumor mass can be low-grade (blue/green) or high-grade (yellow/red), and these regions may have different types of genetic mutations. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the 12 Dec., 2013, issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The paper, by Brett E.
