珊瑚礁的另外的稳态

根据在法属波利尼西亚莫雷阿岛的实地实验，科研人员报告说，在某些珊瑚礁，需要更密集的植食从而清除定植的海藻而非阻止海草定植，而海草主导的珊瑚礁片段对于轻度扰动具有恢复力，这提示珊瑚或海藻占主流的状态在同样的环境条件下都可以是稳态，而防止转向海藻支配的状态应当成为珊瑚礁管理的一个重点。
