On August 24, UNIST signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U2medtek Co., Ltd., a medical device development company, for collaborative research and development in the area of healthcare data analytics.

The primary purpose of this MoU is to develop core technologies for implementing a digital health innovation ecosystem. The ceremony has been attended by Director Hyung Joon Cho of UNIST Smart Healthcare Research Center and CEO Yang Seok Kim of U2medtek Co., Ltd.

In the memorandum of understanding, the two organizations have pledged to conduct empirical research and carry out research and development projects to develop the technologies that enable advanced analytics for digital healthcare. Based on new technologies developed through this agreement, the two organizations will accelerate the creation and expansion of the data ecosystem to bring smart health experiences to life.

To this end, they plan on developing solutions for data-based precision medicine for disease prevention and management by integrating UNIST’s breakthrough AI-based data analytics technologies and U2medtek’s state-of-the-art technologies for processing healthcare data, as well as its technology commercialization platform strategy.
