KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture researcher Jun Lin was named as a Fellow to the Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases Monday, December, 6, 2021. He is one of 16 researchers nationwide to be inducted this year.
Jun Lin is a microbiologist in the Department of Animal Science at UTIA. His research primarily focuses on bettering animal health and food safety through targeting specific pathogens and antimicrobial resistances.
Since 2001, Lin has contributed 54 abstracts at annual CRWAD meetings, of which 40 abstracts were presented by Lin's mentees at UTIA. He has also served as editor of Animal Health Research Reviews since 2017 and as chair for the bacterial pathogenesis section.
“This award provides another great platform for me to show Volunteer spirit by promoting innovative, impactful and collaborative research in animal health, and by mentoring junior scientists in furthering their careers,” Lin said, “I feel this award comes with a strong responsibility for me to continue making contributions to CRWAD, and promote providing real life solutions to the community.”
Established in 1920, CRWAD’s purpose as a non-profit is to discuss and disseminate the most current research advances in animal health and disease, population health, and translational medicine. Upon induction, fellows are expected to make ongoing contributions to the mission of CRWAD.
