Cactus Communications (CACTUS) will attend the 44th annual meeting of the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) from June 1-3, 2022, at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The meeting, which will be held face-to-face after two years, is the biggest annual event in scholarly publishing and will be attended by academic publishers, journals, and learned societies the world over. CACTUS, a technology company accelerating scientific advancement, will be exhibiting from booth 515 and will chair four speaking sessions, focusing on this year’s theme of ‘Building a more connected scholarly community’.
In the sessions CACTUS will present, the main focus will be on how AI solutions can help improve efficiencies in the workflow and how real societal impact can be measured. The session by Nikesh Gosalia, Senior Vice President, Academic and Publisher Relations, CACTUS, will explore how marketing teams of Academic Societies can strike the right chord with Early Career Researchers and GenZ researchers, not just Baby Boomers and Gen X researchers. The breakout workshop conducted by Thomas Laursen, Vice President, Partnerships and Country Director, Denmark, CACTUS, will include technical checks and author workflow solutions that use AI, ML, and NLP.
The session moderated by Donald Samulack, Head of Global Stakeholder Engagement, CACTUS, will discuss ethical science communication following the devastation caused by misinformation during the pandemic. One of the sessions moderated by Chirag Jay Patel, Head of Sales and Business Development (Americas), CACTUS, will focus on the impact of growing privacy and cookie restrictions on academic content. This session will explore how publishers and libraries can use tools to audit site performance while respecting user privacy.
