ESC Congress 2022 – Highlights from the scientific program

ESC Congress – the world’s largest gathering of cardiovascular professionals – is onsite and online for the first time in its 70-year history.

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) will reveal the hottest science in cardiovascular medicine across four days in Barcelona and digitally. Virtual attendees can stream numerous sessions live from the congress centre in Barcelona and access the on demand programme . Explore the scientific programme. Highlights include:

Late-breaking science showcasing major clinical trials presented in the main auditorium in Barcelona and broadcast to audiences across the globe. Accompanied by in-depth analysis of the results with the trialists and international experts. The call for late-breaking science is open until 6 June.

Four major ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines will be published:

  • Ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death
  • Cardiovascular management of patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery
  • Cardio-oncology
  • Pulmonary hypertension.

 

Featuring discussions and interviews with the Task Force Chairs on the recommendations set to most influence clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Ground-breaking scientific findings in cardiovascular medicine unveiled in more than 3,700 abstracts by health professionals and researchers from around the world.

Plus an extensive programme covering all aspects of cardiology including prevention, digital health, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorders, heart emergencies and much, much more.

This year’s Spotlight theme, “Cardiac Imaging”, is the basis of sound clinical decision making in contemporary practice. With profound implications for every area of cardiology, from prevention to diagnosis and treatment.
