New research in Clinical & Experimental Allergy indicates that over the past 15 years, the number of allergy clinics for children in the UK has increased 4-fold and the number of appointments has increased 7-fold.

Most pediatric allergy clinics are relatively small, and they vary in offering some services such as allergen immunotherapy.

“Our findings emphasize the need for national standards, local networks and simulation training to ensure consistent and safe service provision,” the authors wrote.
