Leuphana Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) in Culture and Society

On 8 June, 2023 the Leuphana Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) in Culture and Society has the pleasure of welcoming Jay Tuck as a guest speaker at the first LIAS Interventions: in Media workshop, „Trauma and the Visual in Journalism“ at Leuphana University Lüneburg. The workshop addresses journalists working in a variety of regions and will focus on the experiences of visual journalists in crisis and war reporting.

As a seasoned journalist known for his wartime reporting during the two Gulf Wars in Iraq, Jay Tuck will contribute his expertise to the panel discussion with Levi Obonyo, Dean School of Communication, Daystar University Nairobi, Lydia Ouma Radoli LIAS_Fellow and Professor of Media and Communication from Daystar University and the Berlin film scholar Gertrud Koch. The event is part of the launch of the newly established Leuphana Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) in Culture and Society at the University of Lüneburg, which specifically seeks dialogue with specialists outside of academic institutions.

There will be an opportunity for a more in-depth exchange, no reporting is expected. Interested journalists may join the event on 8 June 2023, 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm either in person at Leuphana University Lüneburg or online via Zoom.
