IADR announces recipients of the 2023 Innovation in Oral Care Awards

Alexandria, VA, USA – The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) has announced the recipients of the 2023 IADR Innovation in Oral Care Awards. The recipients were recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the 101st General Session of the IADR, which was held in conjunction with the 9th Meeting of the Latin American Region and the 12th World Congress on Preventive Dentistry, that took place on June 21, 2023, in Bogotá, Colombia.

Each of the winners will receive US$50,000, which is funded by an unrestricted grant from Haleon and administered by IADR. The recipients are:

  • Kassapa Ellepola
    University of Illinois at Chicago, USA
    Replenishing Biochemical Functionality in Xerostomia Patients with a Catalytic Nanoceria Formulation
  • Zhou Ye
    The University of Hong Kong, SAR, China
    Anti-caries Tooth Spray with Self-assembling Peptides
  • Peter Zilm
    University of Adelaide, Australia.
    The Development of “Intelligent Particles” for the Treatment of Dental Caries

Now in its 20th year of award support, Haleon has contributed more than US$4 million to the IADR Innovation in Oral Care Awards program. IADR administers and awards the grants through a rigorous peer-review process.
