Young Editor recruitment for journal Space: Science & Technology

Introduction

Science Partner Journal Space: Science & Technology is an online-only Open Access journal published in affiliation with Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and distributed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). BIT cooperates with China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) in managing the journal. The mission of Space: Science & Technology is to promote the exploration and research of space worldwide, to lead the rapid integration and technological breakthroughs of interdisciplinary sciences in the space field, and to build a high-level academic platform for discussion, cooperation, technological progress and information dissemination among professional researchers, engineers, scientists and scholars.

Since its establishment in February, 2021, Space: Science & Technology has been indexed in the following databases: Web of Science ESCI、Scopus、INSPEC、DOAJ、CNKI、SAO/NASA-ADS, and expecting for further development.

Over the past two years, we have received great care and support from many outstanding experts and scholars from China and abroad. Several members from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering have published articles in Space: Science & Technology. Donald Rapp, winner of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Outstanding Contribution Award; Bernard H. Foing, chief scientist at the European Space Agency; Alexander M. Krot, winner of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Presidential Award of the Republic of Belarus; International scholars such as Marco Ceccarelli, President of the International Union of Institutional and Machine Sciences, have also contributed wonderful articles to Space: Science & Technology. We have followed hot spots and presented the progress of national projects such as Chang 'E-5, Tianwen-1 and China's Space Station. We have the expectation to be the frontier window for our peers to know about China's space industry. The innovative achievements of young Chinese scientists to the international space community has also been introduced. Special issues such as "Entry, Descent, and Landing of Tianwen-1 Mars Mission", "Advances in Dynamics and Control of Micro/Nano Satellites", "Space Robots". The special issues still open for submissions such as "Planetary Exploration: Horizon 2061", "Key Issues of Lunar Science in Future Exploration", "Spacecraft Dynamics and Control" have received enthusiastic support from experts and scholar. The published articles has been promoted by the Science home page, and intensively forwarded EurekAlert! and other academic media worldwide.

The Editorial Board of Space: Science & Technology intends to welcome new Young Editorial Board members to provide young scholars with an active academic platform for exchanging ideas with each other , as well as to accelerate the development of the journal by inviting creative thoughts and opinions from cultivate young scholars. We sincerely invite young experts who have ambition, professional foundation, strong interest for space research to join in.

Qualifications

  1. Under the age of 40 with a research specialization in space science, space technology, space infrastructure, or other related profession. Being proficient and positive in completing the duties of young editor;
  2. Scholars who has published on Space: Science & Technology will be preferred;
  3. Having a track record of over 10 high-level journal publications (as the First or Corresponding Author) in the previous three years.

Rights:

  1. Be awarded letter of appointment with a two-year tenure, and whom with outstanding performance could be promoted as Editor;
  2. Have a priority to participate and give report in academic activities and conferences hosted by the Space: Science & Technology editorial team;
  3. Sharing the opportunities to be sponsored by Space: Science & Technology for academic meetings and conference, as well as to communicate and work with renowned experts.

Duties:

  1. Recommending and inviting high-quality papers to Space: Science & Technology;
  2. Being proficient contributing, examining and completing peer-reviews for manuscripts in Space: Science & Technology;
  3. Willing to introduce Space: Science & Technology while participating in domestic and international conferences, as well as via social media and other academic activities.
  4. Attending annual editorial board meeting, as to contribute ideas and new thoughts to the development of Space: Science & Technology.

  1. Send E-mail of electronic edition of the academic CV, which theme should be in format as “Young Editor Application + Name + Affiliation + Research Profession” to space@science-bitpjournal.org.cn.
  2. Record of Research papers published in recent three years.
