Applicants must fulfill these requirements in order to be eligible for the travel award:

• Have no more than five (5) years of experience as a professional science journalist (staff and/or freelance) - OR - be currently enrolled in a journalism program at an accredited university
• Meet EurekAlert!'s journalist-member eligibility guidelines
• Be able to obtain a visa and travel to a future AAAS Annual Meeting within the next two (2) years
• Working proficiency in English is highly recommended
