A typical γspectrum obtained by BGO detector (red dash line) and the corresponding unfolded γ spectrum (blue dash-dot line). The reconstructed spectrum is shown as black line. The spectrum is measured with C5T2. (IMAGE)

By varying the interaction angle from 102° to 180°, γ rays with theoretical energies of 13.16 - 21.73 MeV were generated, and 38 energy - points of the ²⁷Al(γ, n)²⁶Al reaction cross sections were measured. The incident gamma spectrum on the detector was obtained using the direct unfolding method. Figure 2 displays the detector response spectrum (blue dash - dotted line), unfolded spectra at 103°, 124°, and 155° slant - scattering angles (red dashed lines), and the reconstructed spectrum (black line) from convolving the incident spectrum with the simulated detector response matrix. The theoretical Compton edge energies at these angles (13.37, 16.96, and 20.7 MeV) show close agreement with the high - energy - side half - peak - height energies of the incident gamma spectrum.
