Dead cell proportions in cultures of skeletal muscle stem cells or satellite cells (SCs) after exposure to 4°C for 48 hours, the SCs of hibernators (hamster, chipmunk and bear) have less 20% dead cells, whereas the SCs of non-hibernators (mouse and rat) have much cells death of 60% or higher.
