lncRNA classification according to genomic location (IMAGE)
Caption
(A) Intergenic lncRNAs are located between two protein-coding genes. (B) Intronic lncRNAs are derived from introns of protein-coding genes. (C) Sense lncRNAs are transcribed in the same direction and strand from exons and introns of protein-coding genes. (D) Antisense lncRNAs are transcribed in the opposite direction. (E) Bidirectional lncRNAs are located near the promoter associated with protein-coding genes but are transcribed from the opposite strand. (F) Enhancer lncRNAs. (G) Pseudogene lncRNAs are a group of lncRNAs derived from pseudogenes.
