A wearable textile for monitoring the fit of prosthetics uses a conventional embroidery equipment with silver-plated conductive thread to form the electrodes of sensors. (VIDEO)
Caption
An embroidery machine stitches silver-plated conductive thread into fabric to form the sensor’s electrodes, the same machine-based process used to fabricate both the pressure sensors and the electroluminescent display threads. The technique allows the sensors to be manufactured at scale using conventional embroidery equipment.
