André Bachmann, PhD, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and Caleb Bupp, MD, FACMG, Corewell Health, collaborate on research into Bachmann-Bupp syndrome and other disorders of the polyamine pathway. Their work has already shown that the drug difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) can reverse key disease-related abnormalities in five patients with Bachmann-Bupp syndrome; the new NIH grant will help advance that research toward a potential approved treatment.
