Im Jahr 2006 wurden 35 Waldbisons aus Kanada eingeführt. Diese großen Pflanzenfresser haben sich an die lokale Umgebung angepasst und ihre Population vergrößert. Das 100 Hektar große Gehege, in dem die Tiere leben, dient als Studienort für Ökologen und Zoologen und bietet die Möglichkeit, Veränderungen in der Vegetation in Verbindung mit dem Selektionsdruck der Pflanzenfresser zu verfolgen.
