Wildtype (WT) mice or mice lacking Mincle (Clec4e-/-) were infected with a version of the Leishmania major parasite that expresses mcherry fluorescent protein, allowing the parasites to be tracked during infection. The fluorescence signal was measured over the weeks following infection.
