The motion of a hot, dense plasma created on a solid target surface by an ultrahigh intensity laser. The movie shows different regions of a plasma moving in and out at high speed at different times, quite unlike the usual expectation of a somewhat uniform motion. (Data were interpolated between measured data points to make the movie for illustration.)
