Bird in Hand (IMAGE) Arizona State University Caption Biodesign Institute associate research scientist Melha Mellata, and Roy Curtiss, director of the institute's Center for Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology, have fully characterized a vector to use in Salmonella vaccine to provide protection against poultry disease called avian pathogenic E. coli (APEC). The vaccine could also help prevent harmful bacterial infections in humans.
