Grady, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Detector Dog (IDD), waits for a command from his Marine trainer during an Office of Naval Research (ONR)-hosted IDD 2.0 project technical demonstration near Southern Pines, N.C. IDD 2.0 is funded by the Joint IED Defeat Organization, with ONR and the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory teaming to execute the work for the Marine Corps. ONR and its partners have been working to improve the canines based on user feedback and after-action reports.
