In vivo Imaging of Type 1 Diabetes Immunopathology Using Eye-Transplanted Islets (1 of 2) (IMAGE)
Caption
Real-time in vivo imaging shows progressive changes in the same islet transplanted within the anterior chamber of the eye beginning 15 days before to 8 days post-onset of type 1 diabetes in an NOD mouse. Changes in islet volume, granularity, and infiltration of immune cells are seen over time, in new Diabetes Research Institute study.
