This soap film contained within a metal rod has junctions where multiple soap films meet each other. In 2015, Prof. Jenny Harrison of UC Berkley and Harrison Pugh of Stony Brook University extended the solution to the Plateau problem to account for more complicated soap film shapes such as this one.
