Carrier Distribution and Layer- and Orbital-Projected Density of States for pz and px at VBM along [ (IMAGE)

The distribution of pz states at VBM shows abnormal confinement of quantum level, while the px states with higher energy is well confined in the potential well. The position dependence projected density of states reflected the overall potential in the QW, the potential barrier different of pz and px explain the carrier confinement of relative orbitals. The pz states exhibit small potential barrier in the quantum structure which suggest the pz state is delocalized in the well. Meanwhile, the higher potential barrier of the px states allows for the well confinement in the QW
