Glia Cells in the Retina (IMAGE)

Glia are supportive cells in the retina. In zebrafish they can undergo changes if the retina is injured. They then turn into a variety of cells to repair the retina. UW Medicine researchers have now prompted glial cells to become functional interneurons in mouse retinas.
