カクレクマノミは、縦帯模様の魚類よりも横帯模様の魚類に対して攻撃的な行動をとる。このような行動の影響により、サンゴ礁魚類のうちイソギンチャクを利用する種とイシサンゴを利用する種の割合に影響を与える。
