New research is changing what we know about breast, lung, and prostate cancers. On Thursday, October 1, the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology will host a public webinar highlighting key findings from Alliance and Alliance Foundation Trials (AFT) studies presented at the 2026 American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting.

Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and collaborators have identified candidate treatment targets and potential prognostic markers for high-grade glioma, an aggressive brain cancer, in children, adolescents, and young adults. The study found that high-grade glioma varies by developmental stage and sex, showing distinct tumor biology and outcomes across patient groups. Using this information to guide clinical trial design and develop new therapies could advance more precise treatment strategies. The findings were published in Cell Reports Medicine.

A new AI-powered test, IICM+, may enhance recurrence risk prediction in HR+, HER2-negative breast cancer. Developed and independently validated in over 4,400 participants from the landmark TAILORx trial, IICM+ outperformed a widely used test. However, further validation is needed. By analyzing TAILORx tumor specimens and more than a decade of patient outcomes, this research extends the impact of this groundbreaking trial.
