A research team from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) has developed a novel Pt-based high-entropy-alloy (HEA) catalyst that significantly enhances the efficiency of propane dehydrogenation (PDH), a key process for producing propylene, a major chemical building block . This PtCuSnAuPd/SiO₂ HEA catalyst demonstrated outstanding performance, with propylene formation rates of 256 and 390 mol C₃H₆ gₚₜ⁻¹ h⁻¹ at 550 °C and 600 °C, respectively, and high selectivity for propylene, remaining above 97% in a 220-hour long-term stability test . The development of this catalyst offers a significant advancement in the chemical industry for propylene production, with its high activity, selectivity, and stability .

The author summarized the traditional and emerging methods for circRNA detection as well as the advantages and limitations, and look forward to future research directions.

Researchers at the University of Science and Technology of China have discovered that gamma rays can convert aqueous-phase methane into complex organic molecules, including glycine, at room temperature.
