A groundbreaking approach to turning waste into wealth is set to take center stage in an upcoming international webinar.
Leading maritime engineering specialists, marine ecologists, and biodiversity experts, gathered in Barcelona between 7 and 9 October to officially kick start the project’s vision on climate-resilient coastal landscapes. Hosted by the Maritime Engineering Laboratory from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the meeting focused on setting the strategic direction of the project, aligning the scientific, technical and communication objectives and establishing synergies between project partners across Europe and beyond.
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) will hold the International Symposium focusing on weather controllability from October 30 to 31 in Tokyo and online. Moonshot program members will report on their achievements and top researchers from around the world will give lectures concerning research and development of "weather-control technologies."
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) has opened registration and abstract submission for the ISSCR 2026 Annual Meeting, taking place 8-11 July 2026 in Montréal, Canada. The Global Stem Cell Event will bring together academic and industry leaders driving progress in stem cell science and regenerative medicine.
STEMCELL Technologies will co-sponsor the hallmark event, continuing a valued collaboration that underscores the importance of partnership between science and industry in advancing the field.
From Oct. 6-9, Pennington Biomedical Research Center hosted the NIDDK Clinical Methods for Nutrition and Obesity Research Course, an intensive four-day training program designed to equip postdoctoral fellows, advanced doctoral students, and early career investigators with hands-on expertise in state-of-the-art methods for clinical research in obesity, metabolism and nutrition.
Sponsored by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, or NIDDK, the course and the Pennington-Louisiana Nutrition Obesity Research Center, or NORC, welcomed a cohort of bright, emerging scientists from across the country.
